Vanessa has worked extensively treating pain, postpartum, pediatrics, fertility issues for both genders, chronic illnesses, and anti-aging. Her style of acupuncture treatment is a mix of using intuition, energy work, and Traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis to treat the human body. Vanessa is a practitioner with flair, and uses the mediums of music and reading to help put her patients at ease. She is constantly amazed and humbled to be a part of the patient’s journey.
At the age of 25, Vanessa had a spiritual calling which led her to San Francisco, California, to study Contemplative Religion through Naropa University. At the same time, Vanessa began a 20-year career in postpartum work, caring for 89 babies and families. This included using acupuncture to help heal mother’s bodies after birth, and to help infants to overcome birthing stress, addiction, and to strengthen the nervous system and assist in latching.
This deep well of caring for others led her to Los Angeles, where she studied at Yo San University acupuncture school and earned her degree and accreditation. Vanessa has been a licensed acupuncturist for 8 years.
Acupuncture is a 5,000 year old medical practice, unique in it’s approach to treatment; it does not categorize an area of the body into a singular area for treatment, such as the gastrointestinal system, but instead looks at the whole body and it’s prevailing symptoms as relatable to one another. This is due to a complex mapping system on the human body called acupuncture meridians. Acupuncture helps detox internal organs, adds health to the lymphatic system, and helps release the maladies that the body carries that it should not.
