In April of 2018 the American Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists offered a new set of guideline recommendations for the postpartum mother.
I want to bring home health care back to its roots with at-home follow up care for families following birth. To have a trained medical profession in your home teaching you how to care for your newborn baby, while also caring for your entire family is a rare gift.
As a medical doula and licensed acupuncturist I can educate your family as postpartum symptoms arise, and treat them with the healing modalities of acupuncture, massage, cupping, hydrotherapy, healthy foods and more.
I will educate your family on proper COVID protocol and W.H.O. standards on breastfeeding during COVID and proper precautions to take.
My role as a doula is not to only care for Mom and baby, but I am an in-home medical practitioner caring for the whole family.

Did you know that a mother does not see her doctor until four to six weeks postpartum? Many health issues can arise during that period; it's comforting to know that your questions can be answered and problems addressed with a medical postpartum doula.
Acupuncturists are medically trained. undergoing four years of studies, including three years of Western Medical Training, and herbs.
I also happen to be a baby expert, caring for over 80 babies and being a single parent foster parent to a set of 3 month old twin baby girls. If there's one thing I know, it's the language of babies.

Most doulas are NOT medically trained; in fact, part of being a doula means there is no medical intervention. Organizations like CAPPA and DONA do not allow for a doula to take a temperature, have a weighed feeding or administer an over-the-counter medicine.
To have a medical professional in your home to easily communicate with, who is also caring for the mother and baby is a luxury that everyone should have. I have cared for babies for over 15 years and am passionate about support after birth - in all of its many forms.
